Workshop: The Science Behind Speech & Language Development In Children
Learn to notice signs of mild to moderate speech defects, language delay and help your children or students to communicate clearly and develop a healthy self esteem. Elizabeth, will explain the early intervention techniques and also share a few exercises for parents and teachers to practice with the children. This is also an excellent opportunity for Public Speaking and Speech & Drama teachers who can include these exercises in their lesson plans and guide parents to work on them as well.

Elizabeth Jean Thomas is an RCI certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field. She is the Co-founder and Director of Phonologix, an NSRCEL (IIM Bangalore) incubated healthcare start-up providing Online Speech Therapy and other therapy services for adults and children with communication difficulties/delays. She has been a consultant in various organizations and hospitals like Apollo Hospital in Chennai and Gurgaon. She has been working with adults and children with speech, language, and communication disorders like Autism, Hearing Impairment, Cerebral Palsy, Delayed Speech, and Stammering She firmly believes in the positive impact of family oriented intervention on an individual’s progress and has been devoting a considerable amount of time developing parent training modules and successfully implementing them.
