The ongoing pandemic has challenged our school education system like never before. Every school is trying new methods to manage the system with some success but there is now an urgent need to consider some of the long due reforms, like bringing arts-in-education into the mainstream.

Speakers

Divya Dwivedi: Principal, Unison World School, Dehradun

Ms Divya Dwivedi has over 26 years of diverse experience in educational institutions and over 14 years’ experience in residential girls’ schools. Her last assignment was at Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer, as a Vice Principal.

Other than academia, her varied experience encompasses organising and conducting workshops, conferences and leading teams for successful completion of time bound projects and events like the Annual School concerts. Ms Dwivedi has represented her schools in many Regional and International conferences which gives her a global perspective of issues related to the development of a child. She holds Master’s degrees in English and Political Science, an MBA (Finance) and B.Ed. to her credit.

Geetha Jayachandran: Principal, Yuvabharathi Public School, Coimbatore

In a career spanning 20 years, she has held several positions – from teacher to P.G. As the Principal, Ms.Jayachandran has brought many changes in the curriculum of the school by fostering it with new approaches and inclusive practices. Ms Jayachandran has been instrumental in winning many national and international awards for her school. She has won several prestigious awards for her efforts including, Scoolstars Leadership Awards for excellence, Iconic Women Achievers Award, National Leadership Award for leadership in co-curricular education. She is a resource person for Capacity building training programmes at national level organised by CBSE COE. She is a Member of Inspection Committee for the Inspection of Schools for Grant of Composite Provisional Affiliation up to Secondary level. She is the Treasurer of Kovai Sahodaya and has served as the Treasurer of Coimbatore Sahodaya School Complex, for two consecutive terms. She published a paper on the Stress level of CBSE school teachers and CCE and has visited Finland to study the modern concepts of Education.

Nandita Mishra: Head Of International Curriculum, KIIT, Bhubaneswar

Nandita Mishra has a wide experience of working with children from various cultures, languages and regions across India. In her present role as the Head Of International Curriculum and IBDP Coordinator and TOK teacher she is now exploring the possibilites in a multicultural environment as a global teacher.  Earlier in her career as an ISA (International School Award) Coordinator she successfully integrated a global interface in the national curriculum by helping students to engage with schools in different parts of the world to exchange ideas and develop school projects. Also, as a teacher at  St Columba’s School in Delhi, she did a project- Rights of Prisoners and Accused, with Tihar Jail, New Delhi. Students of Grade-9 worked and studied prison conditions by making visits to Tihar, and attended hearings in the courts as well. The project was widely appreciated and she got an opportunity to present it to a large group of senators from USA. More so, she also presented the project to the Chief Minister of Delhi  and some of the ideas were incorporated in the jail reforms. Nandita is also a poet and a visual artist. She is the guest faculty  for creative writing at the NIFT, Bhubaneswar.

Vaishali Chakravarty: Drama & Life Skills Educator & Director, Joy Of Drama

Vaishali is a theatre practitioner, drama educator and entrepreneur. She has performed in several theatre productions with Actor Factor Theatre Company. She founded Joy Of Drama in 2015, a fast growing drama and life skills training organization with centres across India and a number of successful online programs.​

Vaishali is one of the few theatre practitioners who have trained extensively in both the traditional and the contemporary forms. In addition to training under the Manipuri physical theatre masters Sabitri Devi and Late Heisnam Kanhailal, she has formally trained in Drama & Speech and has subsequently been awarded the ‘Associate of Trinity College London – (ATCL) Diploma with Distinction’ and 'Licentiate of Trinity College London - (LTCL) Diploma with Merit' in Speech & Drama and Performance Arts respectively. She has attended the Shakespeare Summer School at the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Art (RADA), London and completed the Professional Development Program in Drama-In-Education at the University Of Dublin, Ireland.
